Career Overview

I am a versatile creative professional whose career encompasses art, graphic design, photography, writing, and editing.

I began my career in the publishing industry, working as a copyeditor for a legal publisher. Later, as an acquisitions editor for a reference publisher, I expanded my editorial skill set to include competitive research, product development, contract negotiation, and manuscript review.

My next stop was a 70-year-old membership society in the financial industry. I began as their communications manager, a hybrid writing/design position in which I held responsibility for all of the organization’s marketing materials. In this role, I produced their first-ever extensive brochure.

Receiving a promotion, I initiated and ran a quarterly publication. In addition to designing the pages, I established the periodical’s overall tone and structure, determined article contents, and selected and advised authors. Many of the writers were prominent figures in the investment field.

I moved on to an international media company, designing all marketing and conference materials for their renowned digital-marketing brand and revitalizing a related magazine. At an annual awards ceremony, I was nominated for Support Team of the Year as the sole team member responsible for design in the US office; I also received a “Highly Commendable” citation.

Currently, I work as a designer for a company that develops curriculum materials for pre-K through grade 12.

Over the course of my career I have successfully completed a variety of freelance assignments. For example, I redesigned a Web Tool for a 45-year-old nonprofit in the education field. I also generated a sign for a synagogue that serves over 200 families.

My interest in photography has developed from my deep love of nature.
